KHIMOD has appointed Pi-Process Intensification Experts LLP as its exclusive distributor in India for flow chemistry applications. This agreement marks an important step in KHIMOD’s commercial development in the Indian market, covering the pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, fine chemical, and agrochemical industries. Applications in the low-carbon fuel and petrochemical sectors are excluded from the scope of this agreement.
KHIMOD’s millistructured Heat Exchanger-Reactors (HERs), manufactured using a proprietary diffusion bonding process developed over more than 20 years, deliver exceptional thermal performance — up to 1,600 kW/m³/K — while enabling operation at pressures up to 100 bar and temperatures up to 500°C, with higher pressures achievable on customized models.
Compatible with highly corrosive chemistries in stainless steel 316L as standard — and in Hastelloy or other alloys on customized configurations — the reactors support flexible residence time design with very narrow residence time distribution, and can integrate fixed-bed catalysts or catalytic static mixers.
Pi-Process Intensification Experts LLP brings deep expertise in process intensification and continuous flow manufacturing to the Indian market. Pi operates a lab-scale reactor for proof-of-concept testing, enabling customers to validate their processes before scaling to industrial production.
Together, KHIMOD and Pi will support manufacturers in achieving enhanced process safety, superior heat transfer performance, faster scale-up, higher productivity and selectivity, and reduced energy consumption.
