Serrie is an Alumni of the French engineering schools École Polytechnique of Paris (class of 2001) and of the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (class of 2005). He started his career as a project finance analyst at Vinci Concessions (2005-2006). He subsequently joined the World Bank (2006-2008), based in Washington D.C. in the United States, before joining the French Development Agency (Agence française de développement).
In 2010, he joined the Alstom Group, first as a manager at the Corporate Strategy Department before leading the Offshore Wind activities of Alstom in France and Belgium. At the time of the acquisition of the energy-related activities of Alstom by General Electric, Nicolas became Executive Key Account Leader (2015-2017) where he managed the relationship with major European electrical utilities.

In 2017, Nicolas was appointed Head of Product Management of the GE Hydro business (1 bn$ of annual turnover), as well as President of the GE Hydro business in France (600 employees). In both capacities, Nicolas was a member of the GE Hydro executive committee.
Before joining KHIMOD, Nicolas was General Manager at Natel Energy where he successfully grew the business in the USA and in Europe through organic growth and acquisitions.
